APTA Core Ambassador Spotlight: Ethan Mitchell |
Texas Physical Therapy Association Core Ambassador Ethan Mitchell is a second-year DPT student at Angelo State University. This past year Ethan has worked with the Texas Student Physical Therapy Association to hold a webinar with TPTA President Michael Alan Geelhoed, PT, DPT, to discuss how to get involved within APTA. In addition, he, along with his TSPTA team, held a National Advocacy Dinner to ignite student interest in population health. Ethan has enjoyed highlighting various programs and students throughout Texas through a social media initiative on the @TexasSPTA Instagram. Developing relationships with other students passionate about physical therapy is the most valuable aspect of being the Core Ambassador! |

Note From the Vice PresidentHi, everyone. I cannot believe how quickly the summer has flown by! Although I am sad to see the summer start to come to a close, I am excited for the new school year that lies ahead. Whether starting a new semester or embarking on your next clinical rotation, this next season of transition brings you one step closer to becoming a PT or PTA! I am also excited for all the events and opportunities that are coming soon. I cannot wait to connect in person with students at the APTA Centennial Celebration in early September! Whether you are volunteering as an usher at the APTA House of Delegates or participating in APTA's Advocacy Day on the Hill, it is anticipated to be a great event for celebrating the PT profession. If you cannot attend in person, many of the events, including the House of Delegates and the Future of Physical Therapy Summit, will also be livestreamed. More information about these events can be found on APTA's Centennial website. The slate of candidates for the next APTA Student Assembly Board of Directors will also be announced in a few weeks. This will be an excellent opportunity to get to know the candidates running to represent all 30,000 student members of APTA. Be sure to keep an eye out for the official announcement, learn about all of the amazing candidates, and cast your vote for the next SABoD. Finally, September will bring another season of transition for APTA Core Ambassadors. Applications for the fall cycle are now closed and new CAs will be appointed soon. Thank you to everyone who is nearing the end of their term as a Core Ambassador. Please let me know if you need any assistance in the coming months in helping to onboard your state’s next Core Ambassador into their new role. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions! |
